The cold winter has gone by and now it’s time to prepare ourselves for a warmer period. Although the low temperatures are now long gone, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t prepare for the period to come. Just as we’re preparing ourselves for the warmer weather, we also need to prepare our skin and hair so that it can get accumulated to the different temperature. This means that many products or methods that we used during the winter period need to be changed. So, what do we need to do to protect our skin and hair this spring and summer?
Protect your skin and hair from the sun
Now that we’re done protecting our skin and hair from the harsh winter weather, it’s about time to start worrying about what the scorching sun can do to them. So, it’s never too early to start thinking about how you can protect your skin and hair from the sun. With that being said, when it comes to the skin, make sure you never leave the house without applying a good sun cream. Not only will you be protecting your skin, but you'll also be protecting your overall health. Therefore, there is another more important reason to wearing your sun cream. When talking about your hair, before entering into the new season, it’s always good to let go of the old and give your hair a well-deserved trim. This way you’ll be letting go of the dry split ends and making sure your hair looks better and healthier.
Stay away from the hot tools
When going into a season that is much hotter, it’s better to give your hot tools a break. Although it’s never really great to use these tools, regardless of the season, when hot weather is on the horizon, it’s better to stop using them altogether. Instead of blow drying your hair, and then using a straightener or a curler to do your hair, why not let it dry naturally. If you don’t like how your hair looks naturally then you can always throw a headband or tie a cute ponytail or bun that will not only make you look like you’re really tried but won’t hurt your hair.
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate
Something that you need to do, when getting your skin prepped for the new season is exfoliating. Since the cold weather is now behind us, we can finally get rid of the dry skin and dead skin cells by exfoliating. What this does is help your skin get rid of the dead cells that make it look dull and dry, and makes way for a more radiant and smooth complexion. Who doesn’t want that? Well, that’s why it’s imperative that you don’t leave out this step from your skincare routine.
Change your beauty routine to fit the season
Since we’ve moved on from the cold weather, it’s also time to move on from the winter skincare. Since we’re going into a new season, this meant that we need to change the skincare routine that we’ve used up to this point. This is so because cold weather often asks us to use heavier moisturizers so that we can battle against dryness which is one of the main issues that arise during winter. Therefore, once that harsh period is done, and our skin doesn’t feel as dry as it was, it’s also time to move to some different products. Therefore, instead of using creams and moisturizers that are heavy and focused on battling against dry skin, you should now look for products that are lighter and based on natural ingredients, so that you don’t have to worry about any unwanted side effects.
Use products to keep the frizz away
Something that is sure to happen to our hair during this hotter period is its tendency to get frizzy. This is so because the weather is hotter, therefore there is more humidity that is bound to get your hair looking like a frizzy mess. However, there is absolutely nothing that you should worry about since there are ways in which you can turn that frizz into smooth hair. First what you need to do is invest in a good shampoo or conditioner that can battle against this issue. There are many products that can give your hair that smooth effect, and you can easily find them at your local store.
As the seasons change, we need to be prepared to change our everyday routine, so that we can accommodate the needs that our skin and hair might have. With that being said, there is nothing wrong in preparing yourself for the period that is to come. Just as your body needs time to accumulate to the changing temperature, so do your skin and hair. Giving them what they need during this period is just what you should do if you want to have that perfect complexion and that smooth as silk hair.
